Subject Introduction

Our school offers the Science subject to students in P.1 and P.4 during this academic year. The curriculum is developed in accordance with the Science Education Key Learning Area: Science (P.1 to P. 6) Curriculum Guide (2025). It aims to cultivate students' curiosity and interest in science and enable students to master basic scientific knowledge, scientific process skills, and generic skills through various scientific inquiry and engineering design activities, developing their abilities to conduct scientific inquiries and solve problems.

The content covers four major categories: Life and Environment, Matter, Energy and Change, Earth and Space, and Science, Technology, Engineering and Society. In the scientific inquiry section, four steps (PDAR) – "Questioning and Planning" (Plan), "Implementing and Recording" (Do), "Organizing and Analyzing" (Analyse), and "Expressing and Reflecting" (Review) – are used to guide students in exploring natural phenomena or things related to daily life. In the learning activities of engineering design and innovation, four steps (PDIR) – "Defining Problems and Planning" (Plan), "Building Models and Testing" (Do), "Improving Designs" (Improve), and "Expressing and Reflecting" (Review) – are adopted to guide students in designing models or products.
